The Community Development Network of Maryland (CDN) Announced today that Senator Chris Van Hollen is to be the Keynote Speaker for their Annual Meeting and Awards Luncheon to be held on September 29, 2017 at noon at the Hoen Lithograph Building in Baltimore City.
Senator Van Hollen represented Maryland’s 8th Congressional District from 2003-2017. He was recently elected to the Senate in 2016 after longtime Senator Barbara Mikulski retired.
Senator Van Hollen is on the Senate Budget Committee and has been fighting hard to preserve the programs we care about, including CDBG, CSBG, HOME and other important programs for affordable housing and serving low income people.
“We are honored to have Senator Van Hollen with us at our Annual Meeting,” said CDN Executive Director Odette Ramos. “We want to honor him for his work to preserve the federal programs we care about, but also hear from him about how we can help him in this fight. This will be a great ending to a very busy and successful 4th Annual Maryland Community Development Week.”
