Community Action has been in the US since 1964 dedicated to helping people out of poverty. Maryland has 17 Community Action agencies and on Sept 22 we will learn about one of them.

Join us to learn more about Community Action in Maryland by visiting the Neighborhood Service Center in Easton, MD on September 22, 2017 from 4-6pm.

Tour the site of their new affordable housing development and learn more about their services. Reception follows the tour.

Join us for the dedication of the Frederick Community Land Trust’s latest home on Wednesday, Sept 27 at 10am. Then head over to the Bernard Brown Center in Frederick to learn more about Community Land Trusts, how Community Land Trusts work in Maryland, successes and lessons learned from Maryland’s only Community Land Trust.

10:45am – Van tour of Frederick Community Land Trusts other properties

Prince George’s Sports and Learning Complex

This workshop will have all you need to know about what Land Banks do, how Maryland’s law works, and how jurisdictions can implement the new law.

The national experts in this field, the Center for Community Progress, will run the workshop and answer your questions.

Join us to tour the revitalization triangle: The Hoen Building, the Food Hub and the old American Brewery (now Humanim) building, and the housing revitalization in between. This work is happening “north of the tracks” with partners from the state, city, private developers and nonprofit organizations.

Meet at the Hoen building at 10am (parking available). The tour is a walking tour.
