CDN conducted a strategic planning process over the past year, and came up with four major strategic priorities, including priorities that have defined CDNs work over the past several years.

  • ADVOCACY – CDN’s Advocacy work has been the core of the organization since its inception. CDN represents the community development industry during the General Assembly each year, and also assists at the local regional coalition level.
  • SOCIAL & ECONOMIC IMPACT – CDN promotes the social and economic impact of community development in Maryland. CDN launched the Impact campaign in September of 2014 which includes the Annual Maryland Community Development Week.
  • COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT INDICATORS – CDN will launch community development outcome indicators in the fall of 2015
  • REGIONAL COALITIONS – CDN is in the process of forming regional coalitions throughout the state to be able to hear the needs in each region, set our advocacy goals based on this dialogue, and provide information, training, and/or resources to strengthen the work of community development organizations in each region. Our capacity building work is now regionally based.
